Processing initialization
The Matlab® command 'texturemod'
makes appear the first interface named 'TEXTUREMOD INTERFACE'.
It is dedicated to both 1) initialize the processing and 2) to perform 2-D
Fourier transform. Adding new button objects for integrating
new sites or image types is easy to implement, provided that basic rules
for coding site names and images are correctly followed.
1) Analysis is automatically proposed on study
sites for which image data and forest parameters are available. Selecting
buttons mentioning 'Mangroves, all sites' will involve pooled processing
of data available on both Kaw, and Sinnamary sites. Buttons referring to
image sensors available on the selected study sites are then indicated as
enabled. Within a run, selection of multiple image types is possible but
processing is allowed only for data of identical pixel size.
Spectra tables and principal component analysis are computed. Relevant variables
and results are stored into hard disk files which have coding names allowing
to identify study site, sensor and Fourier configuration.
2) Radiobutton for selecting size of
square windows for Fourier transform is then activated. After selection
of size between 19 and 201 pixels, maximum frequency sampling is proposed
up to the Nyquist frequency. In addition a moving window processing can
be achieved (it is time consuming). These 3 factors are also used to identify
and a-posteriori use all results stored on hard disk.

Result analysis
Once the FOTO processing is ended and results
are stored, the Matlab® command 'results' makes appear
the second interface named 'FOTO results'. It is dedicated to 1)
a cluster analysis of PC scores (not shown hereafter), 2) the production
of FOTO maps (in ERMapper® format),
3) selecting which forest parameter has to be plot versus
PC scores and 4) a stepwise analysis that could combine the three first PC
axes. An inversion model is then proposed (Figure 1)
to produce forest parameters maps at last.
